The Minnesota Chiropractic Association (MCA) continues to work with HealthPartners and Optum to address contracting, credentialing and claims-processing concerns reported by members following the transition from Fulcrum.
Following discussions with both organizations, HealthPartners confirmed that it began releasing previously held chiropractic claims on August 21, 2026. MCA has confirmation of received payments from HealthPartners to some Minnesota chiropractic practices. HealthPartners indicated that most providers have been added and verified in their system and that the backlog will be resolved soon.
MCA Will Continue to Follow Up
We appreciate the members who brought these concerns forward. Member reports helped identify the broader scope of the issues and allowed MCA to engage directly with HealthPartners and Optum leadership to seek answers and resolution.
While the release of held claims and the receipt of payments by some practices are encouraging developments, MCA recognizes that outstanding issues remain, particularly for claims that were incorrectly processed as out-of-network and for providers continuing to experience contracting or credentialing concerns.
MCA will continue to monitor the transition, communicate with HealthPartners and Optum regarding unresolved issues, and advocate for timely resolution of concerns affecting Minnesota chiropractic practices and their patients.
