DEI Statement
As members of the health care profession many of us have seen first-hand the impact poverty and discriminatory practices have on communities. While our country struggles to heal from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the events surrounding the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and more members of the Black Community force us to publicly face the harsh reality that minority groups are still burdened by racism and oppression. We stand in solidarity with our fellow health care professionals around the world in condemning racism and all forms of discrimination.
It is in MCA’s core values “to create a meaningful difference in the lives of each individual Doctor of Chiropractic and their patients in the state of Minnesota.” As healthcare providers and primary care physicians, Doctors of Chiropractic are an integral part of the healthcare system and have a responsibility to ensure that everyone has access to and receives the highest quality care.
Doctors of Chiropractic across the world recognize that to elevate the health and wellness of communities, racism and its resulting inequities must be addressed. We acknowledge that we must do more to advance diversity and inclusion, and the MCA Board of Directors are committed to doing so by listening, learning, and taking action for our members and the health of the communities we serve.
We look forward to sharing more with you as we continue our growth as an association, serving all in our communities.
