The Minnesota Chiropractic Association (MCA) has received multiple member reports of ongoing challenges following the July 1 transition from Fulcrum to HealthPartners and Optum. Reported concerns include delays or difficulties with contracting and credentialing, claims processing, and an inability to obtain clear information regarding resolution or expected timelines. In some cases, these delays may raise concerns under Minnesota’s prompt-pay requirements.
MCA is actively working to elevate these concerns and is seeking direct communication with leadership at HealthPartners and Optum to better understand the scope of the issue, anticipated timelines, and steps being taken toward resolution.
In addition, MCA has contacted the Minnesota Department of Commerce to make them aware of the concerns being reported by chiropractic providers. To assist the Department in evaluating the scope and pattern of these issues, providers experiencing contracting, credentialing, claims-payment, or related difficulties are encouraged to submit an insurance complaint through the Department’s online portal.
Reports from multiple providers experiencing similar issues with the same health plan can help regulators identify broader trends and determine whether additional review or action is warranted.
